Family Fun Nights
Enjoy a night out having fun with the kids. Events are held monthly on usually on Friday's. Each month is sponsored by a Grade Level and themes change to appeal to all students. Enjoy Bingo, Concerts, Magicians, and other family fun entertainment right at school. Parent volunteers make these special evenings possible. Click here for more information.

Space Week
This annual event in co-operation with the Science Musuem of Virginia brings space and engineering to the students at Cedar Point. Grades K – 4 will climb aboard Space Traveler, a 53-foot trailer, to experience 20 hands-on exhibits. Discover “Traveling in Space” ,“Living in Space” and “Space Exploration.” Launch a rocket sled, experiment with a gyroscope, check your weight on Mars and much more. Click here for more information

Teacher Appreciation
The staff (teachers and support personnel) will be working very hard to ensure that your children get the best educational experience possible. There are many opportunities to show our appreciation, like bringing snacks for the teachers lounge. Staff appreciation week is also a wonderful chance to simply say ‘THANK YOU’. We will keep you informed on these dates throughout the year.

Reading Opportunities and Decisions (R.O.A.D)
A program that puts parents and teachers on the same Road to reading success for their children. Mary Lou Vasey, Cedar Point's Reading Specialist, coordinates a series of talks about Reading Recovery, as well as manages a Library of Early Reading books for parents to use at home. Fall and Spring the PTA brings your child classes to extend their learning. Classes are offered in the past include Drama, Art, Music, Robotics, language, culture and Tae Kwan Do. Classes are held directly after school for (8) weeks. Tuition varies by the class, and space is limited. Class schedule is coming soon as well as registration details. Click Here for Details.

Enviromental
The goals of environmental are to include students in projects to better their community, to preserve and respect their environment, and to recycle and conserve energy. Students will participate in an all year long project of recycling plastic bags, inkjet cartridges, and pull tabs. A beautification project will take place in the fall as well as athe spring.
