Membership

CPES PTA Membership is $8.00/person. Membership envelopes are being sent home in Orientation/Open House packets or download the PTA Membership Form here.  Checks can be made out to CPES PTA and returned to us in the membership envelope through your child’s teacher.

CPES PTA Committees

Any voting member is eligible to be on a CPES PTA committee.  If you are interested in helping with any of these committees, please contact us!

MEMBERSHIP –  The Membership Committee is responsible for creating and implementing a membership plan that includes steps that target and attract new members during a membership drive at the beginning of the school year.

VOLUNTEERS – The Volunteer Committee is responsible for engaging PTA members to volunteer for and support CPES PTA programs.

HOSPITALITY – The Hospitality Committee is responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere at all PTA meetings and events, as well as coordinating teacher appreciation events.

PROGRAMS (SEP) – The Programs Committee is responsible for coordinating the Student Enrichment Programs at CPES.

YEARBOOK – The Yearbook Committee will be responsible to collect and organize yearbook content, create the yearbook, and work with a vendor.

CHEETAH FAIR – This event is considered a major fundraising activity for the CPES PTA. The Cheetah Fair Committee will be responsible for organizing a fun, recreational event; coordinating with the Volunteer and Fundraising committees; and execute the event to target both the CPES family and general community.

BEAUTIFICATION – The Beautification Committee is responsible for organizing a fall and/or spring school beautification project that could include clean-up, maintenance, or improvement of school grounds.

WINTER WONDERLAND – This event is considered a major fundraising activity for the CPES PTA. The Winter Wonderland Committee will be responsible for organizing a fun, recreational event; coordinating with the Volunteer and Fundraising committees; and execute the event to target both the CPES family and general community.

SPACE WEEK – The Space Week Committee is responsible for promoting the National Space Week program in October and is centered on education and promoting student participation.

NOMINATING – The Nominating Committee is created in accordance of the CPES PTA Bylaws and shall nominate an eligible person for each office to be filled.  At the election meeting, additional nominations may be made from the floor.

BOX TOPS  – The Box Tops Committee will run Box Tops drives to raise awareness and motivate supporters about the school’s Box Tops Program.

FAMILY FUN NIGHTS – The Family Fun Nights Committee will be responsible for coordinating weekend or week-night activities throughout the school year to create family engagement with the school.

REFLECTIONS – The Reflections Committee will be responsible for organizing and running the National PTA’s Reflections program at our local unit.  This program will encourage students to explore the arts and express themselves with positive recognition for their artistic efforts.

PAW SHOP – The Paw Shop Committee will run a store to “sell” prizes and school supplies to students using positive behavior reinforcement rewards called Cheetah Paws from the classroom teachers.

AUDIT – The Audit Committee works to make sure the association is in good financial health, in good standing with the IRS and other government authorities, that its assets are protected, and that its resources are used appropriately.
