About Us

The PTA plays an instrumental role in ensuring that Cedar Point is a vibrant and dynamic place of learning for our children and one of the best schools in the area. We work hard to support Cedar Point’s mission of encouraging “the whole child,” promoting students’ desire for learning, sense of community and appreciation of others. The PTA seeks to foster communication between parents, students, teachers, and school staff.  Through PTA meetings, Newsletter, the website, and PTA programs and social events, the PTA offers many ways to stay informed and get connected to your child’s school.

Cedar Point PTA:
1. Provides funding to teachers to purchase items needed for their classrooms
2. Updates social media outlets to inform the community about event and activities at Cedar Point
3. Promotes health and wellness by offering programs such as Bootcamp and Walk to School Wednesdays
4. Promotes helping the Earth by educating students in recycling and reducing waste
5. Organizes local grocery store programs that raise $$$$ for Cedar Point
6. Organizes family fun nights and other social events
7. Offers hospitality receptions and gifts throughout the year for our teachers, staff, administration and volunteers
8. Hosts the Kindergarten playdate on the playground
9. Offers spirit wear boosting school spirit
10. Sponsors 5th grade graduation
11. Compiles, prints and distributes the Student Directory
12. Provides scholarships for students in need to attend class field trips, school programs and participate in after school activities
13. Coordinates the after school Student Enrichment Program (SEP)
14. Produces the Cedar Point Yearbook
15. Coordinates Space Week
16. Initiated the Discovery Schoolyard with the Butterfly Garden
17. Holds monthly meetings to keep members up-to date on school events and issues
18. Sponsors the Olweus Bully Program
